It's almost Spring! if you are like me, you may be working on a long list of chores for this years Spring cleaning overhaul. While Spring cleaning can be a lot of work and somewhat time consuming, make sure that you leave some time in your day to do a few quick and easy Spring DIYs.
Spring DIYs can be easy and fun and a welcome change from all the cleaning and reorganizing you may be doing. Not to mention, if you are working on a budget, of few DIYs may help you stretch that Spring make over budget a little bit further, and have a little fun in the process!
Planning always makes every project, even the easy and fun ones, turn out better. What are some of the projects you'd like to try this year? Some ideas include DIY wreaths and floral arrangements, and the list goes on from there. If you like to paint or have a little artistic talent, try your hand at painting. Pick up a canvas or two at your local craft store and paint a new piece or two for a special wall or area in your home. If you have young children, pick DIYs that they can help with. It's a great activity for family bonding and they will be learning as they are having fun and spending time with you.
Dress up your patio area with a few DIY planters. You can use real flowers or silks. For the silks just be sure to spray your florals with a little UV floral spray to be sure that they last. Are you handy with wood, and or tools? Create a DIY storage create for your patio furniture cushions. Handy with concrete or cement? Why not build your own fire pit or paver patio. Or stop by your local thrift shop and find some pieces you can restore to dress up your patio area. The ideas are endless. So if you are an experienced DIYer, or if you'd like to try your hand at it for the first time, put your imagination to work and have some fun creating this Spring!
Don't be afraid to visit your local dollar store. If you haven't been to one in a while, most locations are now fully stocked with affordable DIY supplies to help you stay on budget for this year's Spring projects.
Don't throw away those local sales flyers until see what's on sale and if there are any coupons you can clip. Check your email and visit a few websites, and soon you may have a collection of coupons to help you save on some of those Spring DIY supplies.
If you haven't used something in several seasons, why hold on to it? You can toss in the trash or better still, help out those in need by donating your unused DIYs from previous seasons. Contact your local thrift shop to see what kinds of items they accepting.
